GNC Cleanse Day 1
Started the cleanse today. I've drank my first serving of the cleanse. It tasted fruity in a citrus way.
Breakfast
1 serving of the cleanse
2 eggs scrambled
1/2 cup raw spinach
1/8 cup milk
1 glass of water
My morning breakfast :) The bottle is marked for each serving I need to drink during the day. |
I drank my second serving of the cleanse (halfway done for the day) and was feeling quite thirsty so I drank another glass of water and snacked on some fresh blueberries (delicious)!
Lunch
1 Cookies and Cream Lean Shake (8oz. water & 2 scoops powder). The shake can be diluted down with more water if you want it to be more watery. I made "ants on a log" aka celery sticks topped with almond butter and blueberries (I had 2 stalks of celery prepared). I downed another glass of water... I know I should be drinking the water before my meals, but I prefer to drink afterwards to satisfy my thirst. I'm working on it, baby steps!
About an hour after lunch it was time for the 3rd serving of the cleanse and another glass of water. Water really works on filling you up. I also had a banana because I was feeling a little peckish.
I drank my 4th serving of the cleanse about an hour before I ate supper so approximately 5:00 PM, paired with more water. I think I need to pick up some lemons and oranges for a little flavor and garnish to keep the water interesting.
Supper
1 Salmon fillet
1 TBSP Olive Oil
Seasonings: Pepper, Garlic (2 cloves mashed and spread over fillet), a handful of Chives (diced), and 1 tsp. Parsley.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-25 minutes covered. My magic number is 165 degrees in the thickest part of the fillet. You can double the recipe to cook for two :) I made some steamed broccoli for a side dish. Had plenty of water :)
We snacked on blueberries for any evening munchies and had some tea we found at a local store. The tea is called Summer in Montana and is full of fruity flavors like apples.
Closing Thoughts
Well this has sure been different for me because well I'm a carb-aholic and a coffee drinker. Yes, I did get the lack of caffeine headache. The part that was the most difficult for me was to avoid the bread products in particular toast and spaghetti, they're my obsession.
